Key Terms

TBT - Total Brew Time Dose - Amount of coffee used Ratios - Coffee : Water (1g coffee to 17g of water) Bloom Phase - Releasing CO2 accumulated in roasting process by pouring 3x the water weight of the grounds

How Many Pours?

For brews under 340g we recommend the 1 pour method. For more agitation try 3 equal pours following the bloom phase.

Taste & See

This recipe is a great start for dialing in espresso, but taste is the most impotant factor!

Don't Grind Coarse?

No! Contrary to popular belief grinding coarser benefits percolation (pour over) brewing more than immersion (french press) brewing. The finer you grind the more coffee particles will interact with the water.

Tip from James Hoffman

Add a chopstick or similar device completely through the airflow hole. This keeps the filter from sticking and restricting airflow during the brew.

It's Easy

You don't need fancy equipment to brew cold brew better than your neighborhood coffee shop.
